I was finding a lot of inspiration for engagement photos so I decided to do a whole separate engagement tumblr blog. Check it out here at sweetengagements.tumblr.com

Flowers

I’m still deciding on a florist. I have an idea of the flowers I want, but here are the florists I’m deciding for the wedding. The only flowers I’ll have are the bouquet, boutonniere, and desert table arrangement.
Adorations, Blush Botanicals, Twigg Botanicals.
I don’t want traditional flowers like traditional roses, tulips, daisies, calla lilies, orchids, or hydrangeas.
I do like peonies, ranunculus, garden roses, white anemones, scabiosas, and lavender. I’ll consider dahlias and spider mums.
Accents I like include dusty miller, astilbe, and chamomile flowers. Baby’s breath is common, but I think it’s still pretty, so I won’t mind it.
The Dress

I’ve decided who my dress designer is. She’s a local San Diego designer who makes custom dresses. She has an Etsy shop, but it doesn’t feature all of the beautiful customs she has done. I know her personally, and I’m so excited about collaborating with her to make a dress that is totally unique.
I haven’t decided what I wanted yet, but that’s okay because I have four years to figure it out. At the very least, I’ve decided who is making my dress.
My Perfect Wedding

The hardest thing so far about this wedding planning has got to be the wait. I have always wanted to plan my wedding, and now that the time is here, I have completely immersed myself in wedding magazines and blogs. I can say that after doing this for a couple months, I am not the least bit closer to making my mind up about anything.
I’ve wavered between the beach and the park about a hundred times. I’ve seen thousands of dresses and still have no idea what I want. I can’t make up my mind about flowers. Sadly and ironically the one flower I am so sure about will not be in season when we get married, so I need an alternative. I have learned what photography style I love, but have yet to find a similar photographer within an affordable price range.
I realize I do have four years to go. Being as picky as I am, I suppose that is ample time for designing my perfect wedding.
I heart Tumblr

Tumblr has been one of my favorite tools as far as drawing inspiration.

Hello There
August 15th, 2011 § Leave a Comment
Hello, I am Peony, a 2015 bride. I have got a very long way to go before getting married. To keep my sanity, I’m creating this blog to document my planning process.
My real name, I should start, is not actually Peony. I am creating this blog under total anonymity and my identity will not be revealed until after the wedding.
For starters, I’ve found that vendors send forth their hounds of advertisements, spam, and the like, once they realized you’re engaged. Though some of the information is useful, I would very much not like to have this information flood into my personal accounts.
Second, the wedding is exclusive to immediate family. Because there are no guests, we would like to keep the details of the wedding under wraps.
Also I should note that the date of the wedding is ever changing. FH is in the military, and I think that is all I need to say.
Anyway, thank you for joining me as I plan this small, yet hopefully stylish, wedding.
